What We Repair

Boat Seat And Cover Repair

Our upholstery specialist repairs and rebuilds seats, cushions, backrests, and covers for pontoons, fishing boats, runabouts, and ski boats from across western Iowa.

Sun, water, and years of use crack vinyl, split seams, and soak the foam underneath. We patch small tears before they spread, restitch failing seams, repair torn cover panels, and completely rebuild seats that are past saving. Someone who sews is in our shop most days, so your repair stays right here in Carnarvon from drop off to pickup. We work on seats from Crest, Lund, Tracker, Bayliner, Sea Ray, and most other makes.

Repair Or Rebuild

What A Rebuild Does

Clean seams, supportive foam, and marine vinyl that holds up to sun and water. Here is how each type of repair gets your seating back to that standard.

Gray marine vinyl helm and passenger seats on a Lund fishing boat
Pontoon lounge seating in gray and white marine vinyl with quilted backrests
Crest pontoon seating in cream marine vinyl with contrast stitching
  • Patch And Seam RepairSmall tears, split seams, and loose stitching are repaired with marine vinyl and new thread, so a small problem does not turn into a waterlogged cushion.
  • Cover RepairBoat covers with torn panels, broken straps, worn edges, or failing seams are patched and restitched to get more seasons out of them.
  • Complete Seat RebuildWhen vinyl is cracked all over or the foam has gone flat and soggy, we strip the seat down, replace the foam, and recover it in new marine vinyl.
How It Works

Our Upholstery Process

Every job follows the same four steps, from the first look at your seats to the day you pick them up.

  1. Tell Us What Needs Work

Fill out the form with your boat make, which seats or covers need attention, and what is wrong.

  2. Inspection And Quote

We look at the damage in person, talk through repair or rebuild options and vinyl colors, and quote the job before work begins.

  3. Cutting And Stitching

Old material comes off and patterns are taken, then new vinyl is cut, stitched, and fitted over fresh foam where it is needed.

  4. Fit And Pickup

Finished pieces are fitted back on the boat or seat base and checked over, then we let you know they are ready for pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Upholstery FAQ

A repair makes sense when the damage is limited to a tear, a split seam, or a small worn area and the foam underneath is still firm. If the vinyl is cracked across the whole seat or the foam holds water and has gone flat, a complete rebuild usually gives you more seasons for the money.

We match as closely as we can with the marine vinyl colors available. Older seats that have faded in the sun can be hard to match exactly, which is why some owners recover a full set of seats so every piece looks the same.

Seats, cushions, and covers that come off the boat can be dropped off on their own. Built in seating and larger jobs are easier to handle with the boat here, and we will let you know which applies when we follow up.

Patch and seam repairs are usually quicker than complete rebuilds, and timing also depends on the season and material availability. We give you a time estimate along with your quote.

Yes. We repair torn panels, split seams, worn edges, and broken straps on boat covers so they keep protecting your boat for more seasons.
